FATF publishes first DeFi-specific AML report The Financial Action Task Force has issued its first DeFi-focused report, saying protocols should be assessed under existing AML/CFT rules based on who has “control or sufficient influence,” not whether they call themselves decentralized. The 49-page framework says identifiable controllers can bring a protocol into VASP scope, while blockchain analytics and off-chain signals like front-end or repo control are key tools for supervisors to make that determination.

Immunefi also said audit competitions found 6.2 serious flaws per engagement on average, compared with 1.5 in private tier-1 audits.
