Singapore proposes ban on interest for MAS-regulated stablecoins The Monetary Authority of Singapore has proposed banning issuer-paid interest on MAS-regulated stablecoins while tightening rules with stress tests, recovery and wind-down plans, and stronger safeguards for customer funds. The Sept. 1 consultation also outlines paths for jointly issued cross-border stablecoins and selected foreign-regulated tokens to qualify for the MAS-regulated label, with public comments open until Oct. 16.
