Vietnam Says Five Crypto Exchange Applicants Cleared Initial Review, but No License Issued Yet
Vietnam says five crypto exchange applicants have passed an initial review, but the country has not issued its first license under its digital-asset pilot. Applicants must meet a 10 trillion dong ($383 million) charter-capital threshold and security requirements, while new penalties for unlicensed services and AML failures take effect Sept. 1. Domestic investors will not be fined on Sept. 1 for using overseas or unlicensed platforms; that six-month countdown starts only after the first provider is licensed.
