President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet several senators at the White House on Thursday as lawmakers try to advance the CLARITY Act, a crypto market structure bill, before the Senate’s August recess.

The meeting comes at a critical point for the legislation. Negotiators are still working through unresolved parts of the bill, and several senators have indicated that the next few days could determine whether it reaches the Senate floor before lawmakers leave Washington.

White House meeting set for Thursday

According to Politico, Senator Bernie Moreno said a group of senators will brief Trump on the bill and what he described as its “path to success.” Senator Cynthia Lummis is also expected to attend the meeting.

Moreno said the discussion would cover the bill as a whole and argued that Trump has been closely involved in the effort. He said the president “has been very engaged in this bill” and added that Trump “is the one who’s really driven the innovation that I think will pay dividends.”

Senate negotiators are working against the clock

The push reflects a broader effort in the Senate to move the CLARITY Act before the August recess. Lawmakers are trying to settle outstanding issues in time to keep the measure on a viable legislative track.

Politico reported that Senator Thom Tillis, who has been helping address unresolved provisions, said he hopes an agreement can be reached by the end of the week. He also stressed the urgency of reaching that point soon enough to move the legislation before senators break for August.

Revised draft expected within days

A new version of the bill is expected shortly. Lummis said a revised draft should be introduced in the next few days, signaling that negotiations have progressed far enough for updated text to be prepared.

She also said the measure could reach the Senate floor next week, an indication that supporters are trying to keep momentum through a narrow window before recess begins.

Why the timing matters

The current push is being treated by many lawmakers as the last realistic chance to pass the bill before the midterm elections. That assessment has raised the stakes around the Thursday meeting and the ongoing negotiations over the remaining provisions.

For now, the next confirmed steps are the White House meeting, the expected release of revised bill text, and a possible floor move next week if senators can finalize an agreement in time.
