The European Securities and Markets Authority has expanded its Markets in Crypto-Assets register again, adding 12 companies in what is its fourth update since the July 1 transitional deadline. The update was published on July 31 and raises the number of authorized crypto-asset service providers listed under MiCA to 321.

Alongside the new authorizations, ESMA also added three names to its register of non-compliant entities after they were flagged by Italy’s securities regulator, CONSOB. That list now stands at 167 entries.

New additions span several EU markets

Among the newly listed firms are three German cooperative banks: Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Oberbayern Südost, VR Bank Schleswig-Holstein Mitte and VR-Bank Landau-Mengkofen.

The latest batch also includes two companies based in Spain, Basque Pay and Fintech Payments, and four in France: Finary, Woorton, Blockchain Process Security and Shares Financial Assets. ESMA said 12 companies were added in total in this latest revision of the register.

Fourth post-deadline update

This is ESMA’s fourth update to the MiCA register since the July 1 transitional deadline. With the latest changes, the public register now lists 321 authorized CASPs across the European Union.

The source update does not indicate any broader policy change, but it shows that additions to the MiCA framework are continuing after the deadline passed, with more firms appearing in successive revisions of the register.

Three firms added to non-compliant list

ESMA’s July 31 update also expanded its non-compliant entities register. The three newly added companies are Cervo Rendisco, Flandenzo and Corona Fondenza.

Those entities were flagged by Italy’s Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa, known as CONSOB. After the additions, ESMA’s non-compliant register contains 167 entries.

Other MiCA registers were unchanged

No changes were reported in ESMA’s other MiCA-related registers in the same update. The number of authorized e-money token issuers remains at 41.

The register for asset-referenced token issuers also remains unchanged, with no issuers currently listed. The next confirmed step is simply the publication of future ESMA register updates as additional firms are authorized or flagged.
