Charles Schwab said it plans to expand its cryptocurrency trading service by adding Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to Schwab Crypto accounts in the coming months. The move broadens the offering beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are already available on the platform.

Schwab’s crypto service began rolling out to clients in May 2026. The firm said the latest additions reflect investor interest and are part of a wider plan to bring more digital assets to the platform over time.

Expansion beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum

The company said Schwab Crypto will support trading in SOL, AVAX and LINK as the next step in its digital asset rollout. Once added, the three tokens will join Bitcoin and Ethereum, giving eligible clients a larger set of cryptocurrencies to trade within Schwab’s existing brokerage environment.

Schwab has not announced a precise launch date for the new assets, saying only that they are expected to arrive in the coming months. The company also indicated that future expansion will focus on established cryptocurrencies and other digital assets that match client demand.

How Schwab describes the strategy

Joe Vietri, head of digital assets at Charles Schwab, said the expansion is intended to give clients more ways to build a digital asset allocation while remaining inside the broader investing and banking experience offered by the firm.

According to Vietri, the newly added assets fit Schwab’s approach of offering access to familiar cryptocurrencies supported by education, tools, resources and customer support, so clients can make informed decisions about how crypto may fit into wider investing goals.

Integrated trading and support features

Schwab says its crypto service is designed to sit alongside traditional investing tools rather than operate as a separate product. Clients can view and trade cryptocurrencies through Schwab.com and the thinkorswim platform, where digital assets appear next to other holdings.

The service also includes educational materials aimed at explaining crypto markets and products. Schwab said trading support is available around the clock, and listed trading fees at 75 basis points.

Eligibility and next steps

The crypto offering is provided by Charles Schwab Premier Bank SSB and remains subject to eligibility requirements. Schwab also notes that standard cryptocurrency risk disclosures apply to the service.

For now, the confirmed next step is the addition of Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink. Beyond that, the company has said only that it expects to keep expanding the lineup over time, with future listings guided by client demand and its focus on more established digital assets.
