BTCC says its futures trading volume reached a record $387 billion in the third quarter of 2026, a 32% increase from the previous quarter. The exchange also reported a sharp rise in traditional finance, or TradFi, trading activity, with volume increasing from $2.7 billion in Q2 to $16.3 billion in Q3.

The figures were published in BTCC’s Q3 2026 growth report, which the company framed around its “0-Barrier Trading” strategy. Alongside higher trading activity, BTCC said its user base grew to 12.6 million and that its fee waivers and loss-coverage program together delivered $121 million in value to traders during the quarter.

Futures activity hits a quarterly high

According to the company, Q3 was its strongest quarter yet for futures trading. BTCC said daily activity peaked on August 21, 2026, when single-day futures volume reached $16.7 billion.

The exchange linked that high-water mark to Bitcoin’s late-August rally. The report did not provide a broader market breakdown, but it presented the quarter as a period of stronger participation across BTCC’s derivatives business.

TradFi expansion adds to growth

BTCC also highlighted rapid growth in its TradFi segment. The company said volume in that category rose sixfold quarter on quarter, reaching $16.3 billion from $2.7 billion in Q2.

During the quarter, BTCC introduced USDC-margined trading pairs tied to both crypto assets and stocks. The examples cited in the report included BTC and DOGE on the crypto side, and SKHYNIX and MRNA among equities, reflecting the company’s push to serve traders seeking access to multiple markets on one platform.

Fee waivers and loss coverage form core user pitch

BTCC said it reduced trading costs through zero-fee pairs and a first-trade loss coverage program. In total, the exchange estimated these measures provided $121 million in value to traders in Q3.

That total included $56 million in fees saved through zero-fee pairs, according to the company. BTCC also attributed $65 million to first futures trade loss coverage, under which eligible users can receive up to 50 USDT if their first futures trade ends in a loss.

Reserve data and security measures updated

On the custody and risk side, BTCC said it added $2.5 million to its Risk Reserve Fund in Q3, bringing the fund’s total to $28 million. The company said the reserve is intended to provide additional protection for user assets during unexpected market conditions.

BTCC also stated that its proof of reserves remained above 100% at all times. In an October 2026 Merkle tree-verified report, it listed a total proof-of-reserves ratio of 132%, including 147% for BTC, 123% for ETH, 136% for XRP, 115% for USDT, 111% for USDC, and 160% for ADA.

The exchange said it has also refreshed its Trust Center to bring together its security and transparency disclosures, including multi-signature cold storage, 24/7 AML controls, and independent security audits by CertiK.

Next step: broader rollout of the 0-Barrier message

BTCC used TOKEN2049 Singapore to promote the same strategy highlighted in its quarterly report. As a platinum sponsor at the event, the company presented “0-Barrier Trading” around four themes: 0 Fees, 0 Friction, 0 Distance, and 0 Panic.

Based on the company’s report, the next confirmed step is continued positioning of that framework across trading costs, language support, platform access, and security assurances. The latest quarter’s metrics suggest BTCC is using volume growth, product expansion, and reserve disclosures to support that message.
