ZetaChain’s plan to move ZETA to Solana is advancing after Proposal 68 drew overwhelming support in governance voting. According to the proposal results cited in the source report, 99.4% of votes backed the measure and participation cleared the required 40% quorum.
If the proposal is approved, ZETA would migrate on a 1:1 basis with no increase to total token supply. Solana would become the token’s canonical network, and ZETA would continue trading under the same ticker as a native Solana SPL asset.
What Proposal 68 would change
The proposal centers on a full network migration for the token rather than a redenomination or supply expansion. Existing ZETA balances would convert 1:1, and the overall supply would remain unchanged after the move to Solana.
Under the plan, ZETA would shift from 18 decimals to nine decimals to match the Solana format described in the proposal. Amounts that fall below the new precision would be rounded down. The report also says current vesting schedules would continue and that no new tokens would be issued as part of the process.
Solana would become the canonical network
If adopted, the migration would make Solana the canonical home of ZETA. The token would become a native SPL token on Solana while keeping the ZETA ticker.
The change is part of a broader transition outlined in the governance process. The source report says validators would move to Solana, while Anuma, the private AI-focused project associated with the ecosystem, and its Private Memory Layer would also migrate there.
A second governance vote is still required
Proposal 68 does not complete the migration on its own. The current governance process requires another proposal before the plan can be carried out.
That second vote would set the migration timetable and technical execution details, including the snapshot height, claims process, exchange coordination, and the shutdown schedule for the existing chain. It would also cover holder protections and other operational points needed to carry out the move.
What happens next if the first proposal passes
According to the report, a follow-up proposal, referred to as Proposal 2, would define key milestones such as the halt timing, snapshot block, withdrawal window, and cross-chain termination.
Only after that second proposal would the wider transition be finalized. The report says the ZetaChain L1 would ultimately be shut down after the second vote, following exchange coordination and the migration steps approved through governance.
