World Chain said it has become the first production Layer-2 network to deploy streaming Block Access Lists through Flashblocks, a change aimed at speeding up validation without requiring more powerful validator machines.

Under the upgrade, validators no longer need to wait for a full block to be completed before checking transactions. Instead, they can begin verification while the block is still being assembled, a design World Chain says can raise throughput while supporting efficiency and decentralization.

How the new system works

The system breaks each two-second block into a series of 200-millisecond Flashblocks. Each of those smaller units includes a corresponding Block Access List segment that identifies which accounts and storage slots are affected by the transactions inside it.

That data gives validators an earlier view of state changes as block production unfolds. Rather than handling transactions only in a fixed sequential flow after block completion, validators can begin preparing state data sooner and process multiple transactions in parallel.

What changes for validators

According to World Chain, streaming Block Access Lists allow validators to calculate state roots in parallel and spot inconsistencies almost immediately. By moving part of the validation workload into the block-building phase, the network spreads computation more evenly across the full production window.

The stated benefit is that higher throughput does not automatically translate into a need for stronger validator hardware. World Chain presented the approach as a way to improve performance while trying to preserve broader network efficiency and decentralization.

Benchmark results on cloud hardware

World Chain said it tested the upgrade under storage-heavy workloads using standard cloud infrastructure. In those benchmarks, validators reportedly kept up in real time as throughput increased from 1.7 million gas per second to 1 gigagas per second.

The company also said validation latency stabilized rather than continuing to climb as transaction load increased. It described that result as a sign that the design could support future scaling without the usual increase in end-of-block validation delays.

Why it matters next

The deployment puts the technology into a live production Layer-2 environment rather than limiting it to research or test conditions. The immediate significance is the shift in timing: validation work begins during block construction instead of being concentrated after a block is finished.

The next confirmed step, based on World Chain’s announcement, is continued operation of the system on the network as it handles higher throughput scenarios. The company framed the rollout as part of a broader effort to scale blockchain performance without sacrificing validator accessibility.
