Upbit has put Sophon (SOPH) under a trading warning and halted deposits while it reviews the token through mid-October. The move opens a defined review window during which the exchange will decide whether the issues behind the warning have been addressed.

In a separate exchange action, Binance said it will remove seven USDC-denominated spot trading pairs on Sept. 25. Binance attributed that decision to low liquidity and trading volume, while noting that the affected tokens will still be available through other supported markets on the platform.

Upbit starts SOPH review period

According to the exchange, the warning period begins on Sept. 22 and runs into the second week of October, which Upbit specified as Oct. 12 to Oct. 16. During that period, the exchange will assess the concerns that led to the designation and determine whether they have been resolved.

Upbit said three outcomes are possible under its process. It can remove the trading warning, extend the review period, or terminate trading support. If the reasons behind the warning are not sufficiently addressed, a final delisting decision could follow.

Alongside the warning, Upbit has also suspended deposits for SOPH. The exchange did not present the move as a delisting decision at this stage, but as part of a review process that remains open until the assessment period is completed.

Binance to end seven USDC markets

Binance said it will stop trading in AIXBT/USDC, DOLO/USDC, ENJ/USDC, HUMA/USDC, SXT/USDC, TNSR/USDC and TURTLE/USDC at 03:00 UTC on Sept. 25. The exchange said the affected spot pairs were selected for removal because of poor liquidity and trading volume.

The change applies specifically to those USDC spot markets rather than to the tokens themselves. Binance said the underlying assets will remain tradable on the exchange through other supported pairs after the USDC markets are closed.

Part of a broader Binance review pattern

The latest removal follows an earlier adjustment by Binance involving some of the same assets. This month, the exchange had already withdrawn margin support for four of the seven USDC pairs now scheduled for spot delisting.

That sequence suggests Binance had already been narrowing support for certain low-activity markets before deciding to shut the remaining USDC spot books tied to those tokens. The current announcement, however, is limited to the seven named pairs and the stated Sept. 25 trading halt.

What happens next

The next confirmed date on the Binance side is Sept. 25, when trading in the seven listed USDC pairs is due to end at 03:00 UTC. Trading in those tokens on other Binance-supported pairs is expected to continue after that time.

For SOPH on Upbit, the key period extends through Oct. 12 to Oct. 16. By the end of that review, Upbit may remove the warning, prolong the assessment, or move toward ending trading support if the underlying concerns remain unresolved.
