Strategy said it bought another 1,665 Bitcoin for about $142.7 million, increasing its total holdings to 847,666 BTC. The company said the latest purchase was made at an average price of $85,681 per token.
The new total leaves Strategy holding more than 4% of Bitcoin’s capped 21 million supply. Including fees and expenses, the company said it has now spent about $64 billion on Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $75,437.
Latest purchase lifts already dominant position
The company remains the largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin. After the latest acquisition, Chairman Michael Saylor said Strategy’s Bitcoin position was worth about $70.6 billion and carried unrealized gains of roughly $6.6 billion.
Those figures underscore the scale of Strategy’s long-running accumulation program, which has made the company one of the most closely watched institutional buyers in the crypto market. The update did not indicate any change in its broader Bitcoin-focused treasury approach.
How the deal was financed
Strategy said the purchase was funded through a mix of common stock sales and cash-equivalent assets. During the period, the company sold about 1,469,165 common shares and raised $246.2 million.
Of that amount, about $103.5 million was used for the Bitcoin purchase, alongside $48.1 million in cash on hand. As of September 27, the company said roughly $18.84 billion of common stock remained available for future issuance and sale.
Other capital moves during the period
Alongside the Bitcoin purchase, Strategy disclosed several other uses of funds. The company said it spent about $151.7 million to repurchase STRC preferred shares and another $22.1 million to pay preferred dividends.
It also reported cash reserves of about $5.02 billion and balances of about $1 billion. The disclosure provides a broader snapshot of how Strategy is managing its capital while continuing to add to its Bitcoin holdings.
Preferred dividend proposal heads to shareholder vote
Separately, Strategy said it has proposed changing the dividend payment schedule for four series of preferred shares — STRC, STRD, STRF and STRK — from the current arrangement to daily payments.
The proposal is set to go before shareholders at a general meeting on October 28. If approved, the company said the revised schedule would first be applied to STRC.
