Progmat has finished moving its security-token platform from Corda 5 to a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1, shifting more than ¥452 billion in tokenized securities onto the new network. According to the company, every active project on the platform was migrated as part of the change.
The company said the transition kept existing platform functions and institutional controls in place while introducing an EVM-based setup through Solidity smart contracts. Progmat also reported faster right transfers on the new system, with transaction finality on Avalanche taking less than two seconds.
Full platform migration completed
The migration covered all active projects running on Progmat’s platform rather than a limited pilot or partial rollout. Progmat said the move preserved the service requirements already used by issuers and was carried out with minimal disruption.
In practical terms, the shift replaces the platform’s previous Corda 5 base with a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1 built for Progmat’s security-token operations. The company presented the migration as a way to maintain current workflows while changing the underlying blockchain infrastructure.
Speed gains and contract changes
Progmat said right transfers are now three to five times faster than before. It also reported that Avalanche transactions on the new setup reach finality in under two seconds, a performance improvement the company tied to the migration.
Another major technical change was the move from Java-based smart contract logic used on Corda to Solidity-based contracts compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. That gives the platform EVM support while retaining the controls and functions required for institutional use, according to Progmat.
AvaCloud underpins the new network
The new environment includes AvaCloud, which provides the dedicated Avalanche network and related operating services for the platform. Progmat said this setup is designed to meet SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II standards.
The company also described the infrastructure as suitable for regulated financial products and institutional controls. Those features appear central to the migration, since Progmat said it preserved the compliance-oriented framework already used by issuers on the platform.
What the move is meant to enable next
Beyond immediate performance gains, Progmat said the new structure creates a base for broader interoperability. The company said the Avalanche deployment lays the groundwork for cross-chain settlement and for links connecting security tokens, stablecoins, and tokenized bank deposits.
If developed further, those connections could support coordinated exchanges of assets and payments across different networks. For now, the confirmed step is the completed migration itself, with Progmat positioning the new Avalanche-based platform as the foundation for those future capabilities.
