OKX says customer balances increased across its largest tracked assets in its 47th proof-of-reserves report for September 2026. The exchange reported $27.4 billion in primary assets and said reserves covered customer liabilities at 105% overall in the latest snapshot.
Bitcoin user holdings were listed at 139,865 BTC, up 4.07% from the previous Aug. 11 snapshot. Ether balances rose 3.49% to 1,785,866 ETH, while USDT balances climbed 4.62% to about 8.493 billion tokens.
Bitcoin balances and reserve coverage
According to the report, OKX held 153,151 BTC in wallet assets against 139,865 BTC in customer account assets, producing a Bitcoin reserve ratio of 109%. The exchange said this means assets under its control exceeded the customer balance snapshot on a more than 1:1 basis.
Of the reported Bitcoin wallet assets, 146,359 BTC were in wallets held by the exchange and 6,792 BTC were held through third-party custody. The customer BTC total represented a 4.07% increase from the August snapshot cited in the report.
Ether and stablecoin holdings also moved higher
Ether user balances increased from 1,725,703 ETH in August to 1,785,866 ETH in the Sept. 8 snapshot. OKX reported a 101% reserve ratio for ETH, indicating slightly more Ether held than the customer liabilities recorded for that point in time.
USDT customer balances rose from 8.118 billion to roughly 8.493 billion tokens, a 4.62% increase between the two monthly snapshots. The exchange reported 105% reserve coverage for USDT in the same update.
Other assets remained at or above full coverage
The proof-of-reserves publication also listed reserve ratios for several additional assets. OKX reported USDC at 100%, XRP at 108%, DOGE at 101%, Solana at 105%, and OKB at 100%.
Those figures indicate the exchange reported at least full coverage for each of the named assets at the time of the snapshot, though the document describes the data as a point-in-time measure rather than a full audit.
How OKX says users can verify the report
OKX said it uses zk-STARK proofs so users can check that their balances were included in the reserve calculations without exposing individual account details. Users can download an inclusion proof and run the company’s open-source zk-STARK validator.
The exchange’s methodology compares total on-chain wallet assets with user liabilities, and it also publishes wallet-address files for balance verification. The latest report is presented as a snapshot of reserves and liabilities at a specific moment, not as a comprehensive audit of the platform.
