Morgan Stanley’s tracked Bitcoin balance has moved above 5,700 BTC after nearly 1,000 BTC in inflows over the past two weeks, according to Arkham data. The blockchain analytics platform shows the bank now holds 5,761 BTC, valued at about $369.9 million based on the figures cited in the report.

Recent transfers lift total holdings

The increase did not appear as a single large transaction. Instead, Arkham’s data shows a series of sizable transfers, mainly from Coinbase Prime wallets, that together pushed the tracked balance higher. Among the largest inflows recorded in the last 14 hours were 495.8 BTC, 171.9 BTC, 166.2 BTC, 154.8 BTC, 143.3 BTC, 126.1 BTC, 120.4 BTC and 34.4 BTC, alongside smaller movements.

Taken together with earlier transfers over the same two-week period, the activity left Morgan Stanley’s net increase at roughly 1,000 BTC. On Arkham’s tracking, that places the firm among the larger institutional Bitcoin holders visible on the platform.

What the transfers do and do not show

Arkham characterized the pattern as Morgan Stanley “buying the dip,” noting that the accumulation came during a period of price weakness. But the platform does not say the transfers prove direct market purchases.

That distinction matters because the on-chain movements could reflect different types of activity. Arkham said it cannot confirm whether the inflows represent outright buys by Morgan Stanley, client subscriptions, or other transfers into an investment vehicle linked to the bank’s crypto offering.

In other words, the wallet activity shows that Bitcoin moved into addresses tracked as Morgan Stanley-related, but it does not fully establish the underlying source of demand or the exact structure behind each transfer.

June crypto expansion with Galaxy Digital

The latest inflows follow a broader expansion of Morgan Stanley’s digital asset services announced in June. Morgan Stanley Wealth Management said at the time it was broadening its crypto offering through a referral arrangement with Galaxy Digital.

Under that setup, eligible high-net-worth clients can lend cryptocurrencies and receive shares in spot crypto investment products, including the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust. The stated goal of the arrangement was to reduce onboarding times into regulated investment products and help move crypto exposure into regulated vehicles.

That June initiative provides important context for the recent Bitcoin transfers. While the wallet data alone does not identify whether the assets came from direct buying or from client activity, the bank’s expanded infrastructure for spot crypto products helps explain why on-chain balances tied to Morgan Stanley may be growing.

Institutional exposure remains in focus

The new inflows add to a broader pattern described in the source report: Morgan Stanley has continued to build tracked Bitcoin exposure while market conditions remain weak. Arkham’s labeling presents the bank as adding to holdings rather than reducing them, although the exact purpose of each transfer remains unclear.

What can be stated with confidence from the available data is narrower: over roughly two weeks, multiple transfers, mostly from Coinbase Prime, increased the Bitcoin balance Arkham attributes to Morgan Stanley to 5,761 BTC.
