Hyperion DeFi, a Nasdaq-listed digital-asset treasury company focused on Hyperliquid, has entered an agreement with Skew Technologies to support the launch of new institutional trading markets on Hyperliquid. The arrangement involves 500,000 staked HYPE, valued at about $33.59 million, according to a report by The Block.

HAUS agreement signed

The deal is structured as a HAUS, or HYPE Asset Utilization Service, agreement. Under that arrangement, Hyperion will deploy the 500,000 staked HYPE to Skew. The commitment is intended to help Skew establish new markets on Hyperliquid, a trading platform that has been expanding its permissionless market infrastructure.

The reported value of the bond-sized commitment is roughly $33.59 million. The companies' agreement links Hyperion's treasury strategy directly to market creation activity on Hyperliquid rather than a simple passive holding of the token.

Skew targets institutional perpetuals

Skew plans to use the bond to launch perpetual futures products aimed at institutional investors on Hyperliquid's HIP-3 permissionless market. That system, introduced in October 2025, allows anyone to open a customized perpetual futures market if they post 500,000 HYPE as a bond.

The size of Hyperion's commitment matches that threshold, making the agreement a practical mechanism for Skew to enter the HIP-3 framework. The reported focus is on building institutional-facing perpetual products rather than general retail-oriented listings.

What Hyperion receives

In exchange for providing the staked HYPE, Hyperion is set to receive two forms of consideration from the arrangement with Skew. The first is an equity stake in Skew. The second is a share of operating revenue generated by the markets.

That structure means Hyperion's role goes beyond supplying capital for a market launch. It also gives the company an ownership position in its partner and an ongoing financial interest tied to the performance of the markets Skew operates on Hyperliquid.

Skew outlines broader ambitions

Skew founder David Gill said the company is prepared to bring a new type of market to Hyperliquid. He also said Skew sees an opportunity to expand the range of assets tradable on-chain through the markets it launches and through products built with partners.

According to Gill, Hyperion DeFi's backing provides infrastructure for innovation and supports longer-term collaboration between the two companies. The statements indicate that the initial market launches may be part of a wider product effort, although the report did not specify which assets Skew intends to list first.

The agreement places a sizeable HYPE bond behind Skew's planned entry into Hyperliquid's HIP-3 market structure, while giving Hyperion both an equity interest and revenue exposure. It also highlights how token treasury firms and market operators are being linked through on-chain infrastructure designed for customized perpetual futures.
