GRVT said the Foundation’s token issuer has completed its first buyback of the platform’s native token, purchasing and burning 1.1 million GRVT on the open market. The company said the transaction removed close to 1% of the token’s circulating supply at the time of purchase.
The buyback is being presented as the first of five milestones leading up to the planned release of Grvt 2.0 at the end of November 2026. GRVT, which describes itself as a self-custodial trading platform built on its own zero-knowledge chain, said the burn can be verified on-chain.
Buyback framework remains discretionary
According to GRVT, additional buybacks may be carried out on a monthly basis, but the Foundation’s token issuer has not committed to fixed amounts or a guaranteed schedule. The company said each purchase will remain at the issuer’s discretion.
GRVT said buybacks are handled through an independent execution partner. Tokens acquired in those transactions are sent to a designated burn address, removing them from circulation permanently.
The platform also said it has published a public dashboard for verification. It is intended to show the number of tokens bought and burned, the share of circulating supply represented by each transaction, cumulative burns, and the associated on-chain transaction hashes.
Four product releases are scheduled before late November
The token burn comes ahead of four planned product milestones. The first, Grvt Earn, is scheduled for the end of October and is expected to offer yield opportunities backed by tokenized assets. GRVT said target yields could reach as high as 11%, with returns tied to underlying asset cash flows such as interest, premiums, and invoice-related income.
Two other releases are planned for November. Stable Funding Perps would add perpetual futures linked to commodities, stocks, foreign exchange, and indices, with zero trading fees and funding applied once per day. GRVT said it aims to list more than 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026.
The second November feature, Yield as Margin, is intended to let eligible Grvt Earn balances support trading positions while still accruing yield, subject to terms and risk parameters. GRVT said those features will then be combined in Grvt 2.0, which is scheduled for the end of November along with a new name, updated visual identity, and the company’s roadmap for 2027.
Company says expansion targets idle balances
GRVT linked the product expansion to a trader survey it conducted earlier in 2026. According to the company, six in ten respondents said they keep at least a quarter of their capital on the platform idle, while many move funds elsewhere in search of yields of 8% or more.
The upcoming products are meant to reduce the split between earning yield and maintaining trading capital. GRVT said Grvt 2.0 is being designed around a single self-custodial balance that can support both uses inside one app.
Current platform scope and token status
Founded in 2022, GRVT currently offers perpetual futures across roughly 200 cryptocurrency and real-world asset markets, according to the announcement. The GRVT token launched in July 2026.
The company said the token does not confer ownership, profit participation, or other economic rights. The next confirmed step in the roadmap is the planned launch of Grvt Earn at the end of October, followed by the November product rollouts and the targeted Grvt 2.0 release at the end of that month.
