Grvt said the Foundation’s token issuer has completed its first open-market buyback of the GRVT token, purchasing and burning 1.1 million tokens. The company said the transaction removed close to 1% of the token’s circulating supply at the time of purchase.

The buyback is the first of five milestones Grvt has set out before the planned launch of Grvt 2.0 at the end of November 2026. The self-custodial trading platform, which runs on its own zero-knowledge chain, said additional buybacks may follow on a monthly basis, although each one will remain discretionary.

Issuer says future buybacks will remain discretionary

According to Grvt, the Foundation’s token issuer plans to continue buying back GRVT tokens monthly, but without a fixed amount or guaranteed schedule. The company said every transaction will be decided at the issuer’s discretion rather than under a preset program.

Grvt also said the purchases are carried out through an independent execution partner. Tokens acquired through the buyback are sent to a designated burn address, which permanently removes them from circulation, and the process is intended to be verifiable on-chain.

Four product releases are scheduled before the rebrand

Beyond the token buyback, Grvt has mapped out four product milestones leading into Grvt 2.0. The first is Grvt Earn, expected at the end of October, which is designed to offer yield opportunities backed by tokenized fixed-income assets.

The platform said target yields could reach as high as 11%, with returns expected to come from underlying asset cash flows such as interest, premiums and invoice-related income. It also noted that these target yields are not guaranteed and that asset-supplying partners will be named at launch.

In November, Grvt plans to roll out Stable Funding Perps, a perpetual futures product tied to commodities, stocks, foreign exchange and indices. The company said those contracts are planned to have zero trading fees and once-daily funding, with a goal of listing more than 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026.

Yield-bearing balances are meant to support trading

Another November release, called Yield as Margin, is intended to let eligible Grvt Earn balances back trading positions while continuing to generate yield. Grvt said the feature will be subject to product terms and risk parameters.

The broader aim, according to the company, is to reduce the gap between holding capital for trading and moving that capital elsewhere to earn a return. Grvt linked that strategy to a trader survey it conducted earlier in 2026, which found that six in ten respondents kept at least a quarter of their funds on the platform idle, while many said they moved capital off-platform to seek yields of 8% or more.

What comes next for Grvt 2.0

Grvt 2.0 is scheduled for the end of November 2026 and is expected to combine the planned products into a single self-custodial application. The launch is also set to include a new name, a refreshed visual identity and the company’s roadmap for 2027.

Founded in 2022, Grvt currently offers perpetual futures across around 200 cryptocurrency and real-world asset markets. The GRVT token launched in July 2026, and the company said the token does not provide ownership, profit participation or other economic rights.
