Grvt said it has completed the first burn of its GRVT token, buying 1.1 million tokens on the open market and permanently removing them from circulation. The company said the amount represented close to 1% of circulating supply at the time of purchase.

The burn is described as the first of five milestones tied to Grvt 2.0, a broader overhaul of the platform’s self-custodial investing and trading experience that is scheduled for the end of November 2026. The roadmap also includes monthly buybacks at the foundation token issuer’s discretion and a series of product releases planned through late November.

Buyback and burn process

According to Grvt, future buybacks are expected to take place on a monthly basis. Each round is set to be carried out through an independent partner, with purchased tokens transferred to a burn address.

The company also said a buyback dashboard will be used to verify the activity. It is expected to display the number of tokens bought and burned, the share of circulating supply affected, cumulative burns, and transaction hashes.

Four launches ahead of Grvt 2.0

Beyond the initial burn, Grvt outlined four additional milestones spanning late October to late November 2026. One of the first planned launches is Grvt Earn, which the company says will offer yield opportunities backed by tokenized assets and target returns of up to 11%, though those returns are not guaranteed. Grvt said the asset-supplying partners will be named at launch.

Another planned release is Stable Funding Perps, described as zero-fee trading for real-world asset markets through perpetual futures linked to stocks, commodities, foreign exchange, and indices. Grvt said it plans to list more than 1,000 such markets by the end of December 2026.

The roadmap also includes Yield as Margin, which would allow eligible balances held in Grvt Earn to be used as trading collateral while continuing to accrue yield. The final step is Grvt 2.0 itself, which the company says will combine earning and trading under a single balance in a redesigned app, alongside a new name, refreshed visual identity, and a roadmap for 2027.

Focus on idle capital

Grvt said the redesign is meant to address a problem it sees among traders: capital that remains unused on trading venues or is moved elsewhere in search of higher yields. Based on surveys cited by the company, that pattern is common enough to shape the product direction behind Grvt 2.0.

The stated goal is to let users keep assets in a self-custodial environment while using the same capital for both yield generation and trading, rather than splitting balances across different services.

Platform background and next steps

Grvt operates as a self-custodial trading platform built on its own zero-knowledge chain. It supports cryptocurrency perpetual futures as well as perpetual products tied to real-world assets.

The GRVT token launched in July 2026. Grvt said the token does not provide ownership or economic rights. The next confirmed step in the current rollout is the sequence of planned launches running from late October through late November, with the full Grvt 2.0 release scheduled by the end of November 2026.
