Circle and SAP-backed Tereina are bringing USDC and EURC payment capabilities into SAP business software, beginning with SAP Pay and SAP Cloud ERP. The companies said eligible enterprise customers will be able to send and receive stablecoin payments inside the applications they already use for finance operations.

Under the plan announced on Oct. 7, USDC will be the preferred stablecoin for qualifying dollar-denominated payments, while EURC will support qualifying euro-denominated activity. The companies did not name initial customers, provide expected transaction volumes, or give a date for full commercial rollout.

Stablecoin payments inside existing SAP workflows

The integration links Circle’s stablecoins with SAP Pay, which Tereina operates within SAP Cloud ERP. That means finance teams can access supported stablecoin payment functions without shifting transactions into a separate tool or workflow.

SAP describes SAP Pay as an embedded payment service that can handle traditional payment rails as well as stablecoins such as USDC. According to SAP, the platform can execute payments and reconcile them against invoices or purchase orders within existing ERP processes.

SAP says SAP Pay currently supports more than 40 currencies and 89 payment corridors. The product also supports ACH, wire transfers, checks, electronic funds transfers and stablecoin payments through a single connection, while businesses retain control over payment timing, currency and payment method.

Arc selected for initial global payment flows

Circle and Tereina said Arc will be the preferred blockchain for the partnership’s initial stablecoin payment workflows globally. At the same time, the arrangement does not mean every SAP Pay transaction must settle on Arc, because SAP Pay supports multiple payment rails and companies keep control over how payments are made.

Arc is Circle’s Layer 1 blockchain and its public mainnet launched on Sept. 16. Circle said the network was introduced with more than 100 institutional and ecosystem builders, and that USDC is used for transaction fees on the chain.

Circle has also been expanding the assets connected to its cross-chain infrastructure around Arc. Its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol now supports native EURC and cirBTC transfers on selected Arc routes alongside USDC.

Enterprise reach is central to the partnership

The companies presented SAP’s scale as a key reason for the deal. Circle said the integration targets an SAP ecosystem linked to 84% of global commerce, a figure that also appears in SAP’s July 2026 corporate fact sheet.

That same SAP document says 99 of the world’s 100 largest companies use SAP products, and 86 use SAP S/4HANA. Circle and Tereina are positioning the new setup as a way to place stablecoin payments directly inside software already used by large finance and treasury teams.

SAP has been pushing to embed payment execution inside Cloud ERP so that a payment can be executed and reconciled in the same workflow when an invoice becomes due. The company says this can reduce manual file handling and dependence on external processing, while for blockchain-based payments it promotes around-the-clock processing and near-instant settlement, subject to the provider, chain and transaction involved.

USDC scale and the next confirmed step

Circle’s latest reserve data showed USDC circulation at $74.1 billion on Oct. 5, backed by $74.3 billion in total reserves. Circle’s transparency page also showed $9.4 billion of USDC issued and $10 billion redeemed during the previous seven days.

The company previously reported $14.8 trillion in USDC on-chain transaction volume during the second quarter of 2026, up 151% from a year earlier, while USDC circulation stood at $73.3 billion at the end of that quarter. Circle also said its Circle Payments Network reached $14.7 billion in annualized transaction volume based on the trailing 30 days at the end of Q2, with 175 financial institutions enrolled.

For the SAP partnership, the next confirmed step is a series of customer proof-of-value programs in the coming months. Circle and Tereina said they also plan training for treasury and payments specialists and broader enterprise stablecoin studies, but they have not disclosed which SAP customers will participate first or when the initial programs will be completed.
