Binance said it will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals on the Ethereum network on October 28 as it carries out wallet maintenance. The exchange expects the work to last about one hour, while trading of tokens on the Ethereum network is set to continue during the interruption.

In a separate update, Binance also announced a round of market removals effective October 30, including 12 BTC-denominated spot pairs and 10 margin trading pairs. The company said the affected spot pairs no longer met its listing standards.

Ethereum network transfers to be halted briefly

According to Binance, the maintenance will affect deposits and withdrawals conducted on the Ethereum blockchain, not trading itself. The exchange said services on the network will be paused while the wallet work is underway on October 28.

Binance added that transfers will reopen after the process is complete and once the network is considered stable. The company estimated the maintenance window at roughly one hour.

Twelve BTC spot pairs set for delisting

The exchange said it will delist 12 spot trading pairs on October 30: AAVE/BTC, ATOM/BTC, CAKE/BTC, DASH/BTC, ETC/BTC, ICP/BTC, PENDLE/BTC, RENDER/BTC, TAO/BTC, THETA/BTC, XAUT/BTC and XTZ/BTC.

Binance said the removal of a specific spot pair does not mean the underlying tokens are being removed from Binance Spot altogether. Users will still be able to trade the base and quote assets through other available markets on the platform.

Margin pairs also affected

Binance separately disclosed that 10 margin trading pairs will be delisted on the same date. The listed pairs are RE/USD1, 币安人生/U, KAT/U, BTC/USDS, ETH/USDS, AVNT/U, FET/U, TRUMP/U, APT/U and WLFI/U.

The exchange did not present these changes as a broader trading halt, but as pair-specific removals alongside the BTC spot delistings.

What happens next

The next confirmed step is the Ethereum wallet maintenance on October 28, with deposits and withdrawals on that network expected to be unavailable for around an hour. Trading for ETH-network tokens is expected to remain available during that period.

After that, the scheduled delistings are due to take effect on October 30. Binance said the spot pair removals reflect its assessment that those markets no longer satisfy the exchange’s listing requirements.
