Binance said it will remove all spot trading pairs for Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK) on October 28, following its latest token review process. The exchange said those reviews weigh factors such as trading volume, development activity, and team commitment when deciding whether an asset should remain listed.
The announcement was followed by sharp, immediate price moves on Binance. QUICK fell roughly 10% below its pre-announcement level and was still down 6.69% about 17 minutes later. EPIC dropped around 9% at first, then recovered during the same period and was trading 5.61% above its pre-announcement level.
A delisting after months under monitoring
Both EPIC and QUICK had spent months carrying Binance’s Monitoring Tag before the exchange moved to delist them. In practice, losing a Binance spot listing often reduces liquidity and can pressure holders to exit positions before trading support is fully withdrawn.
Binance did not present the move as a sudden one-off action. Instead, it tied the decision to its regular review framework, which it says looks at a token’s market activity and project-side engagement over time.
Market reaction diverged within minutes
The first reaction after the notice went live was negative for both assets, though the two tokens then followed different short-term paths. QUICK saw the clearer sustained drop, sliding about 10% and remaining materially below its prior level more than a quarter-hour later.
EPIC also fell immediately, by about 9%, but then rebounded within that same window. By roughly 17 minutes after the announcement, it had moved above the level where it traded before the delisting notice.
Service shutdown begins before spot trading ends
Binance laid out a staged removal process running from mid-October through late December. On October 15, margin borrowing for both tokens will be suspended and the assets will be removed from the Buy & Sell Crypto service.
The next major cutoff arrives on October 20, when Binance plans to stop new futures positions, settle contracts, close outstanding loans, remove margin trading, and discontinue Binance Pay support. Spot trading and related services are also scheduled to be dropped at that point under the exchange’s timeline.
On October 21, Spot Copy Trading will delist both pairs, remaining assets will be force-sold, and Simple Earn positions will be redeemed into users’ Spot Accounts.
Key dates after the delisting
The formal end of spot trading is set for October 28. On that date, Binance said open orders will be removed, Trading Bots will stop for both pairs, and the tokens will also be removed from Convert and Gift Card services.
The exchange’s schedule continues after trading stops. Deposits for the two tokens will no longer be credited from October 29, while withdrawals are set to stop on December 28. Binance also said it may convert leftover balances into stablecoins on December 29, though it stressed that such a conversion is not guaranteed.
What happens next
The next confirmed milestone is the October 15 service reduction, which starts the wind-down before the October 28 spot delisting. For holders, the exchange’s published timetable now sets the sequence for when trading, deposits, withdrawals, and related product access will end.
Beyond that, Binance has only confirmed the review-based delisting decision and the service calendar attached to it. The possible conversion of any remaining balances after withdrawals close remains conditional rather than assured.
