Binance’s bStocks tokenized securities have exceeded $1 billion in assets under management four months after the product debuted in June 2026, according to a Binance Research study cited in the source report. The study described that pace as the fastest recorded in the tokenized equities market.
The report also said users have converted more than $6 billion between bStocks and the corresponding underlying shares at a 1:1 ratio without an added conversion fee. Binance Research presented the figures as evidence of rising demand for stock-linked instruments delivered through crypto infrastructure, while noting that the broader tokenized equities market is still in an early stage.
Rapid expansion after launch
At launch, bStocks offered five tickers. By October 2026, that list had grown to nearly 100 instruments, including products tied to artificial intelligence companies, semiconductor names, and sector exchange-traded funds.
The source report said bStocks now represents about a quarter of the tokenized equities market’s total capitalization. It placed that growth within a wider surge across the segment, which Binance Research said has expanded its market capitalization by 390.4% since the start of 2026, making tokenized equities the fastest-growing category within tokenized real-world assets.
Conversions and product structure
A central feature of bStocks is the ability to move between the tokenized instrument and the related share at a 1:1 ratio. According to the study, cumulative conversion volume had topped $6 billion by October 2026, more than six times the product’s current AUM.
Binance Research said this structure gives users flexibility to switch between formats depending on strategy, including holding tokenized instruments for trading outside standard U.S. market hours or moving them to compatible non-custodial wallets for use in onchain applications. The report also stressed that bStocks are not shares of the relevant public companies and do not grant direct ownership rights. Instead, they are tokenized securities in the form of certificates linked to specific financial assets.
Trading beyond regular U.S. sessions
The study highlighted a sharp difference between bStocks activity and conventional U.S. equity trading patterns. In August 2026, only 42% of bStocks volume was recorded during normal U.S. stock market hours, compared with 89.2% for ordinary U.S. equities.
That means 58% of bStocks trading volume occurred during pre-market, after-hours, overnight trading, and weekends. Binance Research said this model lets market participants respond to earnings announcements, regulatory decisions, and other events that often arrive after U.S. exchanges have closed.
Growing use in onchain finance
Beyond trading, Binance Research reported increased use of bStocks in decentralized finance. The study said bStocks usage in onchain finance reached 11.2%, roughly 3.8 percentage points above the average for tokenized stocks.
One example cited was borrowing against these instruments. Outstanding loans backed by bStocks rose from 5.5% of posted collateral value at the end of June 2026 to 46.2% by September 10. In dollar terms, the report said that equaled about $3.1 million in loans secured by $6.8 million in assets.
The broader tokenized stock market also showed heavier onchain activity. Binance Research said onchain transfer volume for the sector exceeded $100 billion in the third quarter of 2026, up from around $6 billion in the first quarter. At the peak in early August, bStocks accounted for more than 90% of weekly onchain transfer volume among tokenized stocks.
Market context and next steps
The research suggested that early bStocks users often came from both crypto and traditional trading backgrounds. By August 2026, 58.5% of early users had previously traded perpetual futures, regular stocks, or both before making their first bStocks transaction.
Even with the recent growth, Binance Research said only about 0.0025% of the global stock market is currently represented on-chain. In its base-case scenario, the firm estimated the tokenized equities market could reach $349 billion by 2030. For now, the report said further expansion will depend on product availability, a broader range of instruments, and deeper use cases in onchain finance. The source also noted that bStocks are available only to eligible users in approved jurisdictions and only on the secondary market.
