Anchorage Digital has introduced native TRX staking for institutional clients, widening its support for the Tron blockchain as the company points to rising demand for regulated staking access.

Tron support broadened

The new service allows institutions to stake TRX, Tron’s native token, directly from Anchorage Digital’s custody platform or through its Porto self-custody wallet. By keeping assets within their existing custody setup, clients can participate in staking and receive protocol rewards without transferring tokens to an external environment.

The launch builds on Anchorage’s earlier addition of institutional custody for TRX. With staking now available alongside custody, the company is deepening its product coverage for the Tron network rather than offering access only to storage of the token.

Institutional focus

Anchorage framed the move as a response to increasing institutional interest in Tron. The company described the network as one of the largest venues for USDT settlement, highlighting its role in stablecoin activity as part of the rationale for expanding services around TRX.

According to Anchorage, Tron handled about $2 trillion in USDT transfers in the first quarter of 2026. Over the same period, the network averaged 10.9 million daily transactions and 3.2 million active addresses. Separate transparency data from Tether indicates that nearly $90 billion of USDT is currently circulating on Tron.

These figures were cited by the company to illustrate the scale of activity on the network as institutions evaluate which blockchains to access through regulated service providers.

Part of a wider staking push

The TRX rollout also fits into Anchorage’s broader effort to expand staking services for institutional customers. The company has been adding custody-linked staking options across multiple ecosystems rather than limiting its offering to a small number of networks.

In November, Anchorage partnered with Figment to add HYPE staking, extending integrated custody and staking support to the Hyperliquid ecosystem. The latest Tron expansion continues that strategy by pairing custody infrastructure with protocol participation tools inside the same platform.

Context

Anchorage’s addition of TRX staking comes after it brought TRX custody to institutions earlier in 2026, marking a step-by-step expansion of its Tron offering. The company is positioning the service around regulated access, custody integration and exposure to a network that, by its account and Tether’s data, plays a major role in USDT settlement and circulation.
