Anchorage Digital has expanded its institutional custody offering to cover Etherlink and seven assets issued on the Tezos layer-2 network, including xU3O8, a token tied to physical uranium. The assets will be held through Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A., the company’s federally chartered bank.

Under the rollout, institutional clients can custody xU3O8, WXTZ, stXTZ, USDT, USDC, USDSM and wrapped Ether in segregated accounts. Anchorage said the addition lets clients use the same custody infrastructure, policy controls and operating processes already in place for their existing digital asset holdings.

Etherlink assets added to Anchorage custody

The new support brings Etherlink-based assets into Anchorage’s banking custody environment without requiring a separate setup for the network. According to the company, institutional clients can access the newly supported tokens through the same framework they already use for other assets held at Anchorage Digital Bank.

Etherlink is an EVM-compatible Tezos layer 2. Anchorage’s initial list of supported assets on the network includes xU3O8, wrapped XTZ, staked XTZ, USDT, USDC, USDSM and wrapped Ether.

Why xU3O8 stands out

Among the assets added, xU3O8 is notable because it is designed to represent physical uranium on-chain. Anchorage said the token allows institutional clients to gain exposure to the commodity through its existing custody structure.

The source article notes that uranium trading has traditionally relied on specialist intermediaries, long settlement periods and larger minimum transaction sizes. In contrast, tokenization can move part of that process onto blockchain rails, allowing transfers and settlement to occur in minutes rather than weeks.

Custody structure aimed at institutional use

Anchorage said the Etherlink integration places the supported assets into segregated custody accounts at its federally chartered bank. That structure is intended to let institutions apply existing internal controls and compliance processes instead of adopting a separate custody arrangement specific to Etherlink.

The company also said Etherlink is used by projects including Uranium.io, which focuses on tokenized real-world assets. In that setup, smart contracts on the network are used to manage transactions and custody transfers for assets such as tokenized uranium.

Broader push into on-chain institutional access

The custody expansion fits into Anchorage’s wider effort to increase institutional access to on-chain products. The source article points to earlier integrations tied to fUSD and sfUSD, as well as an expansion of Ethereum staking services with Lido.

For now, the confirmed step is the availability of custody support for the seven Etherlink assets at Anchorage Digital Bank. The addition gives institutions a banking-based custody option for assets on the Tezos layer-2 network, including a tokenized real-world asset linked to physical uranium.
